Banana Pudding

I was first introduced to Banana Pudding when I was in my late twenties. How I missed out on this delectable summer dessert is beyond me. Then again, having moved from the “land of bland” (Minnesota), there are several southern recipes I was yet to experience.

I landed on my own version after tasting several different recipes.

I like the texture and the richness of the flavor. Go easy on the cinnamon. It can overpower the vanilla and banana flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 6 oz Instant Vanilla Pudding

  • 1 c milk

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk

  • 2 8 oz Cool Whip*

  • Vanilla Wafers

  • A scant pinch of cinnamon (opt)

  • 3 large bananas

Instructions

  1. Blend instant pudding and milk. Blend in sweetened condensed milk. Gently fold in 1 8 oz Cool Whip. Add pinch of cinnamon (opt).

  2. Then layer vanilla wafers, 1 sliced banana, pudding, vanilla wafers, 1 sliced banana, pudding, vanilla wafers, and 1 sliced banana.

  3. Top with Cool Whip (I use ½ to ¾ of the tub) and crushed Vanilla Wafers.

I like to use a Trifle bowl.

Refrigerate.

Enjoy!
