“When I get a little money, I buy books; and if any is left, I buy food and clothes.” ~Erasmus
Born and raised in Minnesota, Ally made the move south 32 years ago to take a job as an RN in a large trauma and teaching hospital. She met her husband John in a small Bible Church and they have been happily married almost 30 years. They have five young adult children and their fifth child is adopted from China.
Ally is a devoted Christ-follower, continuing to learn how to live out the Gospel day by day and in every circumstance of life. A radical change in her health four years ago has challenged her to walk even closer to God as she seeks to glorify Him in the way she responds to a life filled with physical adversity.
She loves words on paper…and always reads the last chapter first of every book she picks up. Spiritual classics are her favorite books to read. In her words, “They are deep, rich, and full of the kind of content that we don’t see much of in modern day writing.”
Her other interests include all things British, cooking classic comfort food, blogging, and serving with John in the marriage ministry at Watermark Community Church.
“My best friend is a person who will give me a book I have not read.” ~Abraham Lincoln
